Send Notifications: Create a Recipient List

You can save a list of recipients in AdminPlus Notify ahead of time if you think you may need to send voice message notifications even when you don't have access to AdminPlus (for example, during severe weather conditions). Then you can easily select this recipient list when sending a voice message notification remotely from a phone.

Prerequisites

Before you can save a list of recipients for later use, you must have added the recipients to the Recipients area of the Send Notifications screen. For more information on adding recipients to a voice message, see Send a Notification.

Create a Recipient List

  1. Once you've added recipients to the Recipients area of the Send Notifications screen, click Save as List.
Recipient lists are saved for voice messages only. The Save as List button is disabled until you click Voice Message for your notification type.
  2. In the Save as List dialog box, enter a name for your list.
  3. Select the Remove Duplicates BEFORE Submitting Job check box to remove duplicate recipients and invalid phone numbers.

Recipient entries are considered duplicates if they have the same phone number. Let's say you're sending a notification to the primary contact for two students who are siblings. Because both students have the same primary contact, the phone number listed for both students is the same. These entries are considered duplicates, and one is removed, so the parent only receives the notification once instead of twice.
Phone numbers are considered valid if they have exactly 10 digits, not including special characters. When this option is selected, phone numbers that aren't exactly 10 digits in AdminPlus Data Base will be removed as invalid, and the recipient won't receive your notification. International schools can disable the 10 digit restriction. For more information on modifying specifications, see Configure AdminPlus Notify for the First Time.

  4. Click Done.
A dialog box containing the List ID for the list you've just created appears to confirm that your list has been saved successfully. Make note of this List ID, so you can select your recipient list when sending a voice message notification remotely from a phone.
