Grading is a wide and deep topic. Grading refers to everything from assignment columns and category weights to the course grade scale and the semester & final averages. The Gradebook Management site sets the default settings that control how grading will function in the gradebooks for teachers, including whether weighting is allowed and what the course grade scale will be.
In the Gradebook Management site under Grading you will have access to control those settings which impact grading and grade calculation. This is currently only accessible by the "gbadmin" login.
It is not recommended that the Grading Settings be altered during an active school year. Changes and policy updates should be made in the summer before the new year begins. Once grades are entered altering these setting can cause the grades to change.
